About
At Wanix Architects, we believe in providing urban planning, neighborhood enhancement planning, architectural design, and interior space planning services that enhance and transform the communities where we work.
Our firm was founded in 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio by Ms. Xin Wan, and currently has two full-time employees and one part-time employee. Because of our commitment to urban revitalization, especially in the Cleveland area, we have actively sought out opportunities to work with government entities on neighborhood planning and enhancement projects. Our successes include the Taylor Hall Renovation for the May 4th Visitor Center and Wayfinding Design for Kent State University, the E. 116th Street Station Area Planning for RTA and Buckeye Neighborhood Development Inc., the RTA Clifton Blvd. Enhancement Program for the cities of Cleveland and Lakewood, the Cleveland Storefront Program (Ashbury Avenue Storefront and Streetscape Renovation; Istanbul Restaurant Storefront Renovation) for Famicos Foundation, and Reimagining Cleveland (E. 79th and Superior Area Design; Quebec St. and E. 105th Area Design) for Parkworks. We are equipped to handle projects requiring quick turnaround or multiple stages of work, and can incorporate smart technology and the most innovative, environmentally responsible materials in our designs.
Ms. Wan, our founder, graduated from Kent State University with a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Certificate of Urban Planning, studied urban planning in Europe, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Wan has created award-winning planning, commercial, residential and retail design projects in China, Canada and the US. Before establishing Wanix Architects, she worked in the planning and designing field for 19 years, with project experience in China, Canada and the US. Ms. Wan’s past work highlights include the Warehouse District-Johnson Avenue Area Study and Warehouse Conversion for Cleveland, Ohio; the Chagrin River Walk Master Planning and Architectural Design for Willoughby, Ohio; the Mona Lisa Condo, Environmental Design in Toronto, Canada; the Regent Park, Environmental Design in Toronto, Canada; and the W. 83rd Street and Franklin Avenue Housing Design in Cleveland, Ohio.
Wanix has focused on sustainable design for many years. A simple philosophy has always guided our approach to every project: listen to clients, respond with various schematics that balance innovation and perspective, and finish on time and within budget. As a result, our work captures and exceeds expectations. A Wanix project features the right mix of aesthetics, functionality and practicality, creating an effect in harmony with nearby structures, a neighborhood or a community. Most of all, our work adds long-term value to a property.
